I’m excited to share the bits and bobs of my writing life with you. I am a lover of all things speculative: imagined worlds, magical flawed heroes, and strange futures. I have spent my life among dramatic landscapes, from the Rocky Mountains of Montana to the Puget Sound. The real magic of my writing is rooted in my characters’ relationships with their own, often imagined, landscapes. I am a poet turned fiction writer. I started writing stories to bend my over-active imagination toward more healthy pursuits than picturing all the exciting ways myself and my loved ones could die. I began my first fantasy novel five years ago, and I had no idea what I was doing. I’m still working my way through the wilderness of writing and publishing, but I’ve made some wonderful friends and learned a boatload along the way. I’ll post about my reading habits and my conniving efforts to get exactly the book I want from the public library, exactly when I want it (yay, libraries!). I’ll also write about the writing itself.
